- Why Moissanite?
-
For all of our engagement rings, we recommend purchasing with a Moissanite center. Why, you may ask? Moissanite is a very rare mineral that scientists have been able to recreate in a lab setting to create an astonishing gemstone that can rival any diamond. It has many of the same properties as a diamond, such as Brilliance Refraction, Fire Dispersion, Hardness, and Toughness. We use Forever One Moissanite which is the highest grade, and is colorless with a very high clarity, and all our Moissanite is certified by Charles and Colvard, one of the leading creators of Moissanite in the world.
- Is Moissanite eco-friendly?
-
Since Moissanite is created in a lab, it is a conflict-free, sustainable gemstone. Charles and Colvard prioritizes environmental and ethical responsibility which means that Moissanite stones are eco-friendly and better for the world.
- Do you use Moissanite for the side stones?
-
Our rings are priced on the website with natural diamonds as the side stones, and we have options for Moissanite center stones. If you are interested in purchasing the entire ring with Moissanite stones as the accents and center stones, please call or email us to discuss.
- Do you offer other center stone options besides Moissanite?
-
Absolutely! We know that diamonds are more traditional center stones, and we have access to a large inventory of GIA certified diamonds, as well as lab-created diamond centers. We have a large assortment of diamonds in different carat weights and shapes, and would be happy to discuss diamond center options with you. On all our listings we also offer CZ centers, or Cubic Zirconia, which is an inexpensive simulated diamond, which is normally used as a placeholder for a future diamond or Moissanite.
- How does Moissanite compare to a diamond?
-
Moissanite has many of the same characteristics as a natural diamond, and in many cases looks much cleaner on the surface. Moissanite has a very similar hardness and radiance to diamonds, and is a great alternative to a diamond center for a fraction of the price.
- Where do you get your Moissanite from?
-
We source all of our Moissanite from Charles and Colvard, who is a leader in supplying Moissanite. All stones come with a Certificate of Authenticity from the company, as well as a Limited Lifetime Warranty. For more information on Charles and Colvard, please visit their website at https://www.charlesandcolvard.com/
- What is Forever One?
-
Forever One is the highest grade of Moissanite that Charles and Colvard offers, and is the only kind we use in our centers. They are colorless (D-E-F) and the clarity is equivalent to VS. They come in all different shapes and sizes, and always come with a certificate. If you are interested in a different size center stone than is listed as an option on your ring, please reach out to us to discuss pricing options.
- Do you offer other qualities/cuts of Moissanite?
-
For our centers, we only like to use Forever One since it looks most similar to a natural diamond. We prefer not to use Forever Classic or Forever Brilliant since there are slight tints of color which we are not privy to. If you are only interested in a lower quality Moissanite center, please reach out to us.
- Why should I purchase Moissanite rather than CZ?
-
Cubic Zirconia is an inexpensive, simulated diamond, which is a good short-term option for a center stone. Most people use it as a place holder for a future gemstone, Moissanite, or diamond purchase. Moissanite will come certified, unlike a CZ, and has much more radiance.
- Can I trade in my Moissanite center for a natural diamond?
-
If you do not like the way your Moissanite center looks and would like to trade it in and replace with a diamond center, we would be happy to facilitate the swap. Please call or email us to discuss our other center stone options.
- Where can I find more information on Moissanite?
-
We would recommend going to the Charles and Colvard website to receive more information. https://www.charlesandcolvard.com/why-moissanite/ We will also include an informational pamphlet in all our home try-on packages.
